May 9: I participated in a panel on challenges and opportunities around working with data in Pakistan along with Saman Naz (Alif Ailaan), Burhan Rasool (Punjab Information Technology Board) and Fahim Zaman (Dawn). The panel was moderated by Khurram Hussain (Dawn).

My main contribution to the discussion was around the need for publicly available open source data, and how Pakistan was still significantly behind having the national data infrastructure that would allow for an explosion of research and evidence based policymaking.
