I have been working as an international development consultant for the past two and a half years. Prior to that I worked on different consulting projects for different clients. A list of consultancies is given below.
The Global Women’s Institute; Washington, DC; Oct 2018 – Apr 2020:
Developed and piloting the education and child protection content for GWI’s Gender Pro gender capacity building training program. The online training program was designed and implemented by GWI for UNICEF.
United Nations Girls Education Initiative (UNGEI); New York, NY; Oct – Dec 2017:
Produced (as part of a team) a review of evidence on global trends in financing girls’ education in developing countries, including Official Development Assistance (ODA), as well as national government spending.

Consulted with the gender section at UNICEF headquarters in New York as a gender and education for two years.
My work focused on girls’ education and child marriage work. Worked with the gender and education sections on UNICEF’s girls’ secondary education strategy documents; a girls’ education programming review tool for UNICEF country offices; and on collating and analyzing monitoring and evaluation data on girls’ education for UNICEF’s internal as well as external reporting.
Developed a concept note on introducing a gender transformative agenda for girls’ education programming, worldwide.
Analysed UNICEF’s girls’ secondary education programming using country office annual reports, triangulated against monitoring and financial data. The report was used to inform the development of the Global Girls’ Secondary Education game plan.
Conducted field visits to Kyrgyzstan and Ethiopia to implement gender programmatic and girls’ education review tools.
Developed a detailed guidance for UNICEF country offices to accelerate progress towards ending child marriage.
Conducted a public finance scoping study of Bangladesh’s national budgets on activities aimed at ending child marriage for the UNICEF country office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Contributed to the development of Global End Child Marriage Programme results framework; including indicator development based on analyses of data availability in participating countries.
Collaborated with colleagues in UNICEF’s education and child protection at headquarters as well as with UNICEF country (Tajikistan; Papua New Guinea) and regional offices (Central and Eastern Europe region; Eastern Asia and the Pacific region) around the world.

Conducted a desk review of education research and policy documents to produce a report on the status of the education sector in Pakistan.
Urban Alliance Foundation; Washington, DC; Mar – May 2008
Conducted an outcome evaluation of Urban Alliance’s High School Internship Program as part of a three-member team towards including survey instrument design and implementation, as well as data analysis using quasi-experimental comparison design (based on a Non-Equivalent Groups design).

Evaluated the Public-Sector Development Program (PSDP) budget of the provincial Government of Sindh, Pakistan for the five years ending in 2005-06 from a gendered benefit incidence perspective
